Finance Committee

This committee serves as an advisory arm to the Vestry on financial matters. As is its duty, the Vestry discerns the congregation’s mission and ministry and turns to the Finance Committee to formulate an annual budget to carry out the church’s discerned ministry. The Finance Committee periodically reviews the budget – usually quarterly or semi-annually and may again make budget adjustments with Vestry approval. The Finance Committee also advises the Vestry on such topics as endowment funds, clergy and lay salaries, and any long-term financial needs of the church. The members of the Finance Committee include at least one Vestry member, and ideally, four or five other members.

Audit Committee

This committee, made up of the Treasurer, the chair of the Finance Committee, and another Finance Committee member whose responsibility it is to assist the Treasurer, is responsible for retaining the annual Auditor. Once selected, the auditor performs the Audit and provides the audit report to the Treasurer. The Treasurer then presents the audit to the Vestry, and once the audit is approved, it is sent to the Diocese by September 1 of the year following the audit year.
