Music Ministry

Several groups make a joyful noise unto the Lord as part of the St. Peter's Music Ministry. New members are welcome in all groups.

The Adult Choir provides music at the 11:00 AM Sunday service, and rehearses on Wednesday evenings beginning at 7:30 PM. Participation in the Adult Choir is open to all adults in the St. Peter's parish -- no auditions are necessary. Involvement in the choir is a rewarding experience: We enjoy preparing and presenting the varied repertoire of the St. Peter's music program, we enjoy the sense of community offered by being part of the choir, and we have the privilege of being involved in an important ministry.

The Children (Pre-school through fifth graders) and Youth (middle school and high school) Choirs provide music at the 9:00 AM Sunday service. Rehearsals for the Children's Choir are held on alternate Wednesdays from 6:00 to 6:30 PM. The Middle School aged children will rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:00 PM. The High School Aged Children will rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 7:30 PM. All children and youth are welcome in these choirs. For a more detailed list of rehearsals and downloadable registration form, click here.

In addition to providing music at Sunday services, these choirs also present special events, such as the Adult Choir's annual Messiah Sing-Along; the Concerts at St. Peter's series; and a youth musical presented biannually by the Junior and Youth Choirs.

Two additional groups provide opportunities to be involved in the St. Peter's music ministry. Participation in the Family Choir is open to all. The Family Choir sings and rehearses on an occasional basis. No long-term commitment is necessary. The St. Peter's Symphony also rehearses and performs at Sunday services on an occasional basis, and is open to anyone who plays a musical instrument.
