This is an exciting time at St. Peter’s. With plans for renovation and expansion of the building moving ahead, the parish can look forward to increased opportunities for spreading the good news of Christ at home and abroad. In the meantime we continue to worship, laugh, learn, and serve together as a community.
Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will
also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for
God loves a cheerful giver. Moreover, God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that
in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work.
2 Corinthians 9: 6-8
The financial cost of our common life is funded almost entirely by the generosity of St. Peter’s members through their annual pledges. Each fall parishioners are asked to prayerfully consider what proportion of their wealth they are able to give to the church to support its mission and ministries in the following calendar year.
“…and the measure of your own free will offering shall be in proportion to the blessing the Lord,
your God, has bestowed on you…no one shall appear before the Lord empty handed, but each of
you with as much as they can give in proportion to the blessings which the Lord, your God, has
bestowed on you.” Deuteronomy 16: 10, 16-17
It is that time now–time to consider what you can give for 2012. Please take the time to look through the narrative budget included in your pledge packet, read the material on the website and in the goldenrod, Key, and eNews, and listen to the sermons and Adult Forums offered during the pledge campaign. Most importantly, give yourself an opportunity to reflect prayerfully upon the blessings in your life.
The Lord’s are the earth and its fullness; the world and those who dwell in it. Psalm 24: 1
