The Mission Commission provides a way to channel the efforts of St. Peter’s in ministering to those outside the congregation. Parishioners actively support many local, national, and even international missions as volunteers. We also provide funds to a variety of organizations carrying out similar work. The commission raises funds to underwrite its commitment to mission trips with such fundraisers as a Mardi Gras dinner and cabaret, a Cinco de Mayo fiesta, and silent “services” auctions in which parishioners donate their talents and skills—offerings as varied as architectural consultations, babysitting, dinner preparation and catering, and pastry-making instruction—to raise funds.

We always need more volunteers if you’d like to help. You can provide willing hands for specific projects or serve as a leader. Browse through the information here for a listing of activities in which St. Peter’s is currently engaged. Generally, each activity has a sign-up sheet in the Narthex on the Mission Commission bulletin board, or you can contact the leader directly. Contact information can be found in the church directory or obtained from the church office at (703) 536-6606 or info@saint-peters.org.
