Music is a very important part of our worship. Many different groups “make a joyful noise” unto the Lord as part of St. Peter’s music ministry, and our organist and Music Director are outstanding musicians who work to integrate music from the Youth, Adult, and Handbell Choirs, in addition to soloist singers and musicians, with our liturgical worship.
Every other spring, St. Peter’s presents a truly impressive and enlivening musical show—one of Godspell, Narnia or Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat—to great acclaim in the parish and the community. All young people in grades 2 to 12 are welcome to participate in these productions.

Youth Choirs
The Youth Choir provides music at the 9 o’clock service approximately every four to six weeks. Rehearsals for the Youth Choir are held on the second and fourth Wednesday evening of each month. All young people in grades 2 through 12 are welcome in the choirs. Contact: Emily Koons.
Adult Choir
The Adult Choir provides music at the 11 o’clock Sunday service, with rehearsals on Wednesday evenings. Involvement in the choir is a rewarding experience, and participation is open to all adults in the parish—no auditions are necessary. We enjoy preparing and presenting the varied repertoire of the St. Peter’s music program as well as the sense of community offered by being part of the choir, and we have the privilege of being involved in an important ministry. Several times a year, through the Concerts at St. Peter’s series, the Adult Choir also presents special musical events. Contact: Don Witman.
Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings and performs once a month at a 9 o’clock service. The Handbell Choir also sometimes participates in the Concerts at St. Peter’s series. New members are welcome. The Handbell Choir is open to middle school students through adults. Contact: Emily Koons.
Concerts at St. Peter’s
Several times a year, the Adult Choir also presents special musical events such as the Yuletide Messiah Sing-Along. Other events have included a Sunday afternoon Tuneful Tea, a performance by the Washington Saxophone Quartet, and a “Celebration of B’s” highlighting music from Byrd, Bach, Bruckner, Britten and Biebl.
