The Reverend Daniel P. Spors
Dan graduated from Moody Bible institute in 2003 and received his M.Div. from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary in 2007. In 2010, while living in Farmington, New Mexico, Dan began attending St. John’s Episcopal Church, and after returning to his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2010, he began the process of discernment for Holy Orders through St. Matthias Episcopal Church. At the same time, he entered into Clinical Pastoral Education, serving as a student chaplain with Aurora Health Care for two-and-a-half years in Milwaukee and for another one year at the Dallas Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Following this, Dan’s bishop sent him to Sewanee’s School of Theology for one year to attain his Diploma of Anglican Studies before being ordained as a deacon at the Episcopal Cathedral in Milwaukee in June of 2016.
Dan began serving with St. Peter’s in September of 2016 as the Assistant to the Rector, overseeing our youth ministry, family ministry, and Sunday school programs, as well as sharing in liturgical duties with our rector.
In January of 2017, Dan married his wife Ashley, whom he met while living in Dallas. They met at a rock climbing gym, traveled and camped together, became experts at FaceTime dating, and were married at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in McKinney, Texas. Dan was soon thereafter ordained to the priesthood at St. Peters, Arlington by Bishop Steven Miller, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee.
Dan and Ashley are enjoying living just outside of Washington, D.C., and their goals while living in the area include to help St. Peter’s be the best church that it can be, for Ashley to graduate from George Mason University with a Masters in Education, to visit all of the Smithsonian Museums, and to learn how to sail.
