Our worship includes a variety of special events and services ranging from celebrations of life events to Holy Days to remembrance of loved ones.
Blessing of the Backpacks: Before the start of each school year, our Sunday service includes a Blessing of the Backpacks.
Blessing of the Animals: In October on the Sunday closest to the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Saint Peter’s holds a Blessing of the Animals in our Outdoor Chapel.
Feasts and Holy Days: Times for our services on Christmas, Ash Wednesday, during Holy Week, and on Easter will be announced in advance and available on our calendar, but usually include the following:
Christmas season will see our parish working with youth to present a Christmas pageant shortly before Christmas. Christmas services include a Christmas Eve children’s service, two evening services with candlelight, and a Christmas morning service.
On Ash Wednesday, the service will include distribution of ashes.
St. Peter’s Easter services include a Saturday evening Vigil, and three services on Easter morning. The 9:00 services is followed by an Easter egg hunt.
Blessing of our Labyrinth, a pathway to walk for prayer, reflection and meditation.
Service of Remembrance: This annual service in Autumn honors members of our parish who have died during the past year, as well as those whose memories we hold dear. The service includes scriptural readings, meditation/quiet time, and music.
U2charist: St. Peter’s has held two U2charists, a liturgy filled with singing and music from the rock band U2. Donations to this special event usually support our international missions.
