Don Witman

Music Director at St. Peter’s since 1988, Don is a former instrumental music educator with Fairfax County (VA) Public Schools. His 33-year teaching career also included 19 years at Paul VI High School, where he founded the choral and instrumental programs in 1983. He holds degrees in choral conducting (M.M., The Catholic University of America) and music education (B.S., Elizabethtown College). A trumpet player as well as a tenor soloist and conductor, Don is a performing member of the Fairfax Wind Symphony, Fairfax Swing Jazz, and the Silver Five Brass Quintet.

James Jillson Selway

A graduate of The Juilliard School and The Catholic University of America, Organist and Youth Choir Director James Jillson Selway is also Associate Director of the World Children’s Choir. An accomplished pianist, he has performed at the Phillips Collection and the World Bank in Washington, D.C., Carnegie Recital Hall, and the United Nations. Jim is director of Harnes Selway Arts where he maintains a Suzuki piano studio and has directed operetta and music theater productions for the summer program, “Singers ONSTAGE.” An accomplished bass-baritone, Jim has sung with Aspen Music Festival, the Greenwich (CT) Philharmonia, the Aspen Contemporary Music Conference, the Washington Opera, the New York Chamber Soloists, the American Opera Center, the Yale Summer Music Festival, and at the United Nations.
