Even though we probably won’t be able to gather on Christmas Eve this year, we can still be with one another in song. It’s easy!
STEP 1 – Get out your Christmas sweaters, pose in front of those early holiday decorations that everyone seems to be doing this year, gather the whole family and the pets!
STEP 2 – Queue up one of the Christmas carols below, and place your phone where you can record a video of you (and your family) singing one verse. (The first verse is probably easier to record from memory, but if you’d rather choose another verse, that’s wonderful! If you need lyrics, open or download them from the links below the audio.)
STEP 3 – Play the accompaniment on a speaker, loud enough for you to hear and sing along with. Each carol has a short introduction. (For those of you who have made “virtual choir” videos for us, this is a slightly different process. No earbuds needed!)
STEP 4 – Sing and rejoice, making this part of your 2020 Advent preparations.
STEP 5 – By Sunday, December 13, email the video to stpetersmusic @ gmail . com (take out the spaces in the address:)) or upload it to this Dropbox folder. If you use other cloud storage – Google Photos, iCloud, etc – just shoot us a link.
We’re going to join everyone’s videos together into a big beautiful St. Peter’s Christmas Carol Sing, to be included in the prelude to our online Christmas Eve services.
