Our youth are actively involved in all dimensions of our life together.

Children and Youth sing in choirs, serve as acolytes and readers, perform in our biennial Parish Play, cook pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, study their faith in Sunday School. Our Family Ministry focuses on families with young children, and for middle and high school ages we have Godzilla and Youth Mission trips. For more information on each St. Peter’s activity, please contact the office at 703-536-6606.

Parish Play

Every other year for over 25 years, St. Peter’s has devoted its energies to an amazing musical production! The musicals are Narnia, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Godspell. Rehearsals begin in January for performances in March, and all children from second grade through high school are welcome to participate. Our very talented and dedicated director, musical director and producers are supported by an army of parents who help manage rehearsals, build the set, make props, sew costumes, apply stage makeup, provide snacks and a cast party, distribute free tickets, and much much more.

Lenten Youth Program

During Lent, and alternating every other year with the Parish Play, St. Peter’s offers a multi-generational Lenten Program. From Harry Potter to The Wizard of Oz, St. Peter’s youth take a Christian journey through the lens of the classics—a truly incredible experience for children and adults, alike! The programs includes activities, music and dinner.

Youth Mission Trip to West Virginia

Youth mission trips are a wonderful way our youth put their faith into action . Mission trips usually include participating in a community service project and running Vacation Bible School for a week. In recent years these trips have taken St. Peter’s to Charleston, West Virginia. They joined other churches through YouthWorks, a Christian organization that organizes numerous short-term domestic mission trips for youth annually.
