Playground Progress

Since our last update, the Saint Peter’s nature playground has been blossoming to life!

The nature-based playground is quickly unfolding into a fun, natural, and engaging play site.

As construction continues, new features are taking shape. A layer of gravel has been laid down as the foundation for the future mosaic stream, with small rocks decoratively lining its border. The mosaic stream is designed to provide a captivating tactile and visual experience, with inlaid glass marbles, tiles, and river rocks that will sparkle both when dry and when water flows over them from the water pump.

Along the edge of the sand pit, treated logs have been placed, forming a natural, tactile border that doubles as seating, balance beams, or launch pads for imagination.

The frame of the playhouse is now standing, offering a first glimpse of the site that will serve as a lookout, hideout, or whatever fits the day’s imagination. The playhouse’s simple and natural structure acts as a blank canvas, inviting kids to bring their own toys, stories, and ideas to the space.

Meanwhile, the sand excavated from the pit is being put to good use. It's heading uphill to shape the base of the future hill slide.

Most recently, the climbing structure has started to take shape, promising a fun and physically engaging way for children to develop strength, coordination, and confidence. The structure will eventually include a tunnel underneath for extra hiding and exploring.

Stay tuned, there’s more to come as this playful, nature-inspired space continues to grow!
