You Are One in Christ – A Message on Baptism, Belonging, and Mission
This Sunday, we’ll hear from Paul’s letter to the Galatians, a young and divided Christian community wrestling with the question of who belongs. Paul’s answer is bold and clear:
“You are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28)
It’s a message we need today. Our world still draws lines between people—by gender, race, economic status, occupation, age, or even zip code. But as Christians, we affirm a deeper truth: each person is made in God’s image and worthy of love, dignity, and respect.
Celebrating Baptisms & Confirmations
This Sunday, Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Arlington, VA, will celebrate two baptisms and seventeen confirmations. During the liturgy, we’ll be asked:
“Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?”
And we will respond:
“We will, with God’s help.”
That promise is at the heart of who we are. Though we often fall short, we commit—with God’s help—to seek Christ in everyone we meet, and even in those we never will meet face to face.
Global Mission: Dominican Republic Outreach
Mission trips is one way we fulfill that promise. On Tuesday, 19 members of Saint Peter’s will travel to the Dominican Republic to serve alongside our long-time partners:
El Colegio Jesús in Montellano
Santa María Virgen in Montellano
Davina Gracia in Mozovi
For nearly 20 years, Saint Peter’s has nurtured relationships with these communities. This year, the DR Mission Team will engage in landscaping and painting projects and lead Vacation Bible School for 80 children.
