A Place to Breathe, Pray, Belong.
Five wooded acres, winding paths, gardens, a chapel beneath the trees, a labyrinth, and spaces for children to play — Saint Peter’s campus is more than a setting. It is part of how we practice being the church: slowing down, noticing God, caring for creation, and sharing life together.
A place to walk
Winding walking paths move gently through the woods, offering space to walk, to pray, to notice.
Along the Saint Clare Arbor Trail, you’ll find trees marked by species—an invitation to pay attention to the living world around you. Some of these trees were planted as part of our memorial garden, each one carrying a story, a name, a life remembered and honored.
“Teach us to number our days,” the psalmist prays—and here, we remember that we are part of something both rooted and growing.
A place to remember
Our memorial garden is woven into the landscape, not set apart from it.
Here, we remember those we love among trees that continue to grow and change with the seasons. What has been entrusted to the earth is not lost—it is held, transformed, and surrounded by life.
Jesus once said that a seed falls into the ground and rises into something new.
This garden lives inside that promise.
A place to pray
Tucked among the trees, the Saint Francis Chapel offers a quiet place for prayer and outdoor worship.
Here, surrounded by creation, we remember that God and the church is not confined to walls. Sometimes we gather beneath a roof; sometimes beneath the open sky.
A place to slow down
Around the back of the church, our outdoor labyrinth offers a quiet path for prayer, reflection, and stillness. Its winding way invites you to slow down, release distraction, and notice God’s presence one step at a time.
There is no rush here, only the gentle rhythm of walking, pausing, and returning. Whether you come carrying gratitude, grief, questions, or hope, the labyrinth welcomes you into a simple, sacred journey inward and back out again.
You will find instructions about how to walk the labyrinth in a box nearby.
Sometimes prayer begins with simply taking the next step.
A place to play
Children lead the way here.
Our nature-based playground is built into the landscape—wood, stone, and earth shaping spaces for climbing, imagining, and exploring. It’s a place where outdoor play is open-ended, creative, and grounded in the natural world.
We believe Christian community is formed not only in classrooms, but in muddy hands, shared laughter, and the freedom to explore.
“Let the little children come…”
—and here, they do.
A place to grow & share
Our vegetable garden is part of the Plot Against Hunger initiative.
Here, we grow fresh produce that is donated to a local food pantry—sharing what the earth gives with neighbors in need. This community garden is one small way we share God’s blessing by feeding others and caring for our wider community.
Those who tend it know: seeds, soil, sun, and time—
and the quiet miracle of enough.
Our gardens are part of our commitment to care for creation.
A place to praise God
You are welcome here.
You are welcome to walk the wooded paths,
sit in the memorial garden, visit the St. Francis Chapel,
trace the outdoor labyrinth, or spend time in the garden.
Children are free to play.
Even our places of arrival can reflect care. A rain garden that divides our parking lot adds beauty, supports the ecosystem, and expresses our commitment to tend God’s creation.
You don’t have to be a member to enjoy our campus.
You don’t have to be certain about what you believe.
God is here.
Our rain garden adds beauty to the parking lot and reduces water runoff.
Come walk the grounds
Our grounds are an expression of our desire to care for God’s creation. Whether you come for worship, for a walk in the woods, or to explore our outdoor spaces, we hope you’ll find something here that stays with you.
