Fourth Soil Parenting Project
You are the primary faith influence in your child’s life, and you do not have to do that alone. Fourth Soil Parenting helps parents at Saint Peter’s grow in confidence, deepen connection, and build practical rhythms of faith at home through coffee hours, forums, book groups, and family fellowship.

About the project
IIn 2023, Saint Peter’s joined 20 congregations nationwide in a Vibrant Faith initiative called Fourth Soil Parenting.
The project is designed to strengthen the faith of children by equipping parents, grounded in research that parents are the primary faith influence in the lives of young people.
Through the work of a dedicated committee, our clergy, and the Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry, Saint Peter’s offers a variety of support to help parents live this calling with confidence.
The fruit of the project continues in the life of Saint Peter’s today.

More about the project
Our Fourth-Soil Parenting Project asks 20 new partner churches to more fully engage Christian parents over the next three years. Our goal is to help churches re-focus on supporting faith development in and through home life. We’re exploring how a generation of people raising children can best influence their kids into a deepening relationship with Jesus.
As we prepared to begin this Fourth-Soil Parenting work, we developed a conviction that engaging and equipping Christian parents MUST include churches encouraging parents to more fully explore their life experiences. Research tells us that our developmental experiences have a lot to do with how deeply we are able to open ourselves to a living faith in God. (Vibrant Faith Ministries)
