Baptism
Whether you are seeking baptism for a child or exploring baptism as an adult, we would be honored to walk with you.
Baptism is a beginning—an outward and visible sign of God’s grace already at work in our lives.
In baptism, we are marked as Christ’s own forever and welcomed into the life of the Church.
What Is Baptism?
Baptism is a sacrament of belonging and transformation. Through water and prayer, we are made members of the body of Christ and celebrate God’s love that comes before anything we do or believe.
It is not the end of a journey of faith, but the beginning of a life lived in relationship with God and community.
We welcome people of all ages—infants, children, youth, and adults.
For young children, parents and sponsors make promises on their behalf. For older children and adults, those promises are made for themselves, with the support of the community.
What to expect
Baptisms take place during a Sunday service, surrounded by the prayers and presence of the congregation.
We have baptisms four Sundays a year — All Saints, the Baptism of Our Lord, the Easter Vigil, and Pentecost.
Before the baptism, you will meet with a member of the clergy to talk through the meaning of the sacrament and what to expect.
