Older Adults at Saint Peter’s
The elders of this congregation have built something that lasts. They lead its ministries, teach its children, and show up decade after decade with a faithfulness that shapes everything here. At Saint Peter's, older adults are not an afterthought. They are part of what makes this place whole.
Gather With Us
Friendships, conversations, and learning across the years.
-

Wednesday Morning Bible Study
Every Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., a small group gathers around Scripture. The conversation is honest, the questions are real, and newcomers are always welcome. No background required — only curiosity and a willingness to show up.
-

Men's Friday Breakfast
Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m., a group of men meets at Metro 29 Diner for breakfast and conversation. It is informal, unhurried, and good.
-

Lunch Bunch
Four times a year about thirty people gather for lunch and a guest speaker drawn from the wider community. Past topics have included internet safety with an AARP representative, Arlington history, and guidance from a jewelry and fine arts appraiser. A natural place to begin if Saint Peter's is new to you.
-

EARS Short Story Group
Every Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m., a group gathers via Zoom to discuss a short story read that week. Because the group takes on a new story each week, you can drop in whenever it works for you — no catching up required. New members are always welcome.
A Community Across Generations
Saint Peter's has never sorted people by age. Grandparents and grandchildren worship in the same pew. Older adults mentor youth, serve on vestry, lead small groups, and walk the same five acres of Virginia woods that families with young children call home. The intergenerational character of this community is not a program. It is simply who we are.
Support when You Need It
Life in later decades carries its own weight — loss, health, transition, the quiet ache of change. Our pastoral care team is here for all of it, and you do not need to be a member to reach out.
-

Pastoral Care
Care, conversation, and support through seasons of illness, grief, and change.
-

Request a Prayer
Share a prayer request with our clergy and prayer team.
-

Service of Remembrance
A service for giving thanks, grieving loss, and remembering loved ones.
Connected to the Wider Community
Saint Peter's is connected to Arlington Neighborhood Village, a local network supporting older adults who want to remain active, independent, and rooted in community. That relationship reflects something we believe: the church's responsibility does not end at its own doors.
Come Find Us
All the gatherings above are open to anyone in this season of life — member or not, Episcopal or not, certain or still searching. The best next step is simply to show up.
