Where is God
inviting Saint Peter’s?

Every year, the vestry gathers to listen for the movement of the Holy Spirit, reflect on the year behind us, and turn our gaze toward the year ahead.

In 2026, we are sharing two overarching goals in the spirit of invitation: to deepen our shared life in Christ and witness to God’s love in the world.

Called together
by Christ, transformed by God’s grace,
sent out to serve.

These goals are grounded in a commitment to listen to God through Scripture, one another, and the world around us.

Our hope is that these goals invite all of us into deeper discernment about where God is leading us — as individuals and as a parish community.

GOAL ONE

Nurture spiritual growth

Through engagement with the gospel, reflection, and collective action.

We believe that as a people gathered and open to the transformation of God’s grace, we are on a path toward a deepening relationship with Jesus.

Some of us are just beginning to explore faith. Some are seeking practices that draw them closer to Jesus. Some rely deeply on God’s presence in everyday life.

Wherever we are, we are invited to go deeper.

A path of discipleship

A path of discipleship is a way to say:

“Here’s where I am. And here’s where God might be inviting me next.”

Grace abounds along this path. It is not about achievement, but invitation.

GOAL TWO

Be a source of gospel-centered hope

Supporting parishioners and neighbors through connection, service and discernment

We are a people sent out to serve.

In 2026, we will be more intentional about sharing God’s gifts with one another and with our neighbors.

We will connect and support parishioners and neighbors through a community of campus life and service opportunities by promoting existing events well and offering new events that address issues that keep our neighbors up at night.

And we will provide pathways for St. Peter’s and parishioners to discern God’s will for them as disciples in the community and opportunities to share and learn from their engagement. This will involve continuing to invite people into existing ministries and developing a model for groups to reflect on how God is showing up in their work.

This goal is about discernment

“How is God calling each of us to live as disciples in the world?”

POSSIBLE MINISTRY AREAS

Pastoral Care

Advocacy

Formation

Mission

Fellowship

Youth Ministry

Each area connects to ministries already happening at Saint Peter’s to ways to get involved.

Behind him, several adults are seated at black pianos, with some reading sheet music or hymnals. The church has wooden flooring, white walls, and a window with green foliage visible outside.

A church that listens and responds

Underneath both goals is a commitment to be a church that listens to God through Scripture, one another, and the world.

Our hope is that these goals invite us all into a posture of listening for what God is up to:

  • in our lives

  • at Saint Peter’s

  • and in the lives of our neighbors

We are also committed to responding to God’s call by joining God in what God is already doing in the world.

Take your next step in faith

May these goals be sturdy enough to support spiritual growth and flexible enough to allow the Spirit to continue to move.

With hope for what God will do among us,
