Youth Formation

Saint Peter’s Youth Ministry is a place where middle and high school students grow in faith, build friendships, and discover how God is calling them to serve. Through gatherings, worship, and service, youth are invited not just to join the church’s life, but to help shape it.

Sunday School

Sunday School meets most Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. from September through June.

    Grades 7-8

Students in grades 7-8 enroll in a 2-year confirmation program. They explore beliefs in the Episcopal Church, the Bible, spiritual practices, worship, and ministry. The class participates in a service project and serve as acolytes, readers, ushers, preachers, or choir members for worship. Students choose whether and when they are ready to be confirmed. Class meets Sunday mornings at 9 AM.

    9th -12th Grade

Students in grades 9-12 explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus by exploring the practices that Jesus lived and that Jesus invites us to practice in our daily life. Trusted adults lead the class using a curriculum called “Follow Me.” Class meets Sunday mornings at 9 AM.

Youth Group

Students in Grades 6 and up meet the second and fourth Sundays September-May starting at 5:30 p.m. for a meal and fellowship.

During youth group we talk about Jesus, hang out, and play games. Sometimes we take trips off site.

Youth serve neighbors

At St. Peter’s the youth and children are not just the future of the church, they are the church, and we invite them to serve as leaders in age appropriate ways.

We make bagged lunches for the hungry, write cards for the homebound, make lunches once a month for the unhoused. We go on mission to the Dominican Republic.

Youth lead

At Saint Peter’s, youth are not just included—they help lead our common life. Young people serve in worship as chalice bearers, readers, and acolytes. Youth can teach Sunday School and those age 16 and older may serve on the vestry.

Rooted in Christ and formed by grace, youth are invited to share their gifts, grow in faith, and help shape a joyful, welcoming, service-minded community where all ages belong and serve together.

The Mustard Seed Fund

We believe in the power of young people. To encourage and support youth who seek to make an impact in caring for their neighbors and creation, the Mission Commission has established The Mustard Seed Fund.

The Mustard Seed fund provides seed money for service projects. Mustard Seed fund projects have included building a nature trail (2025) and the purchase of hats and mittens to accompany a winter coat drive (2025).

The Saint Peter’s Musical

At Saint Peter’s, children and youth also have opportunities to grow through musical theater. Our musicals invite young people to sing, act, build friendships, and share their gifts in a joyful community experience.

In 2024, Saint Peter’s presented Godspell Junior, continuing a tradition of parish musicals that has included productions like Narnia, Godspell, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. These productions bring children, youth, and adults together in creativity, faith, and fun.

In 2026, we are featuring the musical, The Life of the Party.
